LayerCo is actively involved in preparing preliminary studies for both small- and large-scale hydropower plant construction. Over the past two years, we have worked on nearly 15 hydropower projects, providing a range of archaeological services, remote sensing vibration analyses.
At the initial stage of engagement, the LayerCo team reviewed archival materials, developed an archaeological survey plan, and created a map of existing monuments. Through surface surveys, we identified tangible, intangible, and archaeological cultural heritage sites located within or near the project areas. The next step was to analyze the potential impact on these sites — after carrying out the necessary studies, we prepared reports that included risk assessments as well as cultural heritage monitoring and protection plans.
In our practice, alongside documenting existing archaeological, tangible, and intangible cultural heritage monuments, we have identified new sites or refined the locations of previously known ones.
