LayerCo’s portfolio includes work on municipal-scale infrastructure projects in water supply and sewage systems.
In planning water supply systems, it is essential that archaeological and cultural heritage professionals are involved from the very beginning to ensure that the systems are not placed on archaeological sites or heritage monument areas. Our task is to minimize damage to archaeological layers during project implementation.
At the initial stage, the LayerCo team reviewed archival materials, developed an archaeological survey plan, and created a map of relevant existing monuments for the project area. We identified tangible, intangible, and archaeological cultural heritage sites located within or near the project area.
The next stage involved analyzing the potential impact on these sites. Following the necessary studies, we prepared final reports that included risk assessments as well as cultural heritage monitoring and protection plans.
Within some projects, our team also carried out archaeological excavations at several locations.
